This is a defence tower from the Islamic era, 10th to 12th century. Built at a strategic location, at the highest point of the hill, it had a great view of the Minorca channel.
Along the Capdepera coast there is a series of watch towers which were built between the 12th and 16th centuries as a defence system.
What remains of the primitive church is the first chapel, located on the right going in, as well as the first stretch of the dome-shaped structure of the nave, where one can see the coat of arms of Capdepera.
